New to Scouting?

Our troop does activities like camping, canoeing, swimming, and more!

What can be stated with conviction is that the Scout way of camping and of establishing and maintaining standards, is through the Patrol System. This means giving the Patrol Leaders real responsibility, trusting them and assuring them that they have the necessary support to overcome difficulties.

We have regular meetings where we practice for our big outings by doing first aid and earn ranks. If you join our troop you can run for leadership positions and influence where we go and what we do. Our adults aren't in charge, we are.

Our troop is open to boys who are 11 through 17 years old, have earned their Arrow of Light [Cub Scouting award], or have completed the fifth grade.

JOIN TROOP 1849
General Information
Boy Scout Troop 1849 is located in Chicopee, Massachusetts. We are chartered to the Moose Family Center Lodge #1849 , also in Chicopee. Meetings are held every Thursday night from 7:00PM to 8:30PM. Everyone is welcome to stop in and check out our troop. In addition, we take one or more trips each month. Information on the trips can be found on this website or at one of our troop meetings.
Moose Family Center #1849
Our meetings are held in the family hall of the family center. Upon arrival at the family center in the back of the building, you will see a set of double doors which is the entrance. The Patrol Leader's Council Meetings are held in Family Center too. This is where we will also gather before departing for trips and other events.

The Moose Family Center is located at 244 Fuller Road, Chicopee Massachusetts.
Direction to Moose Family Center
From the East: Take Rt. 90 west (Massachusetts Turnpike) to exit 5. After passing toll booths, bear right. At the stop light bear to the right. Before the next light, there is a turnoff on the right - take it. Go through the next light and the Chicopee Falls Moose Family Center will be on your left. Its about 1/2 mile from the light.

From the West: Take Rt. 90 east (Massachusetts Turnpike) to exit 5. After passing toll booths, bear right. At the stop light bear to the right. From the South: Take Rt. 91 north thru Springfield and take the Rt. 291 east exit. Take the Fuller Road exit. At the light take a right. Go about 1 1/2 miles - The Chicopee Falls Moose Family Center is on the right just after you crest the hill.

From the North. Take Rt. 91 south and take the 291 east exit. Follow Rt. 291 to the Fuller Road exit. Take the Fuller Road exit. At the light take a right. Go about 1 1/2 miles - The Chicopee Falls Moose Family Center is on the right just after you crest the hill.
